In responding to these selections you should write a blog post that articulates what you found interesting or intriguing about each piece. You may use the questions at the end of each selection to help formulate your thoughts.
You also might consider all of the pieces we have read from the "Home and Family" section in ReReading America and how each piece reflects or complicates your own thoughts about what family means in American culture.

ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question on what led me to work with blind and visually impaired students... I started out as a bus aid for the Special Needs Preschool in Cedar City 13 years ago. After a few months, I was asked to help a blind 3 yr. old in the classroom. I attended trainings at the Blind Campus in Ogden and eventually was asked to leave the District and work for them (now I am a state employee). I am a certified braille instructor, but lack a teaching degree. That's why I am back in school. It's the best job around!!
